  1. The Future is Tech : Technology is fast-growing and changing. Companies are looking for ways to catch with the latest technology, that was I knew there are always new opportunities for me and those who want to be involved in the industry and obviously can keep up. As a ever-learning person, it means I will always be up-to-date on the latest trends and developments. There is always something new to learn …Brilliant, right?
  2. Flexibility : I love this part so much, why? I can work anytime I want, isn’t that cool?. The cloud storage, fast internet all over the world, video conferencing made available by technology now makes almost all tech jobs remote while some are hybrid. There is absolutely no reasons going to work in the morning and back in the evening. Trash the regular 9–5 Schedule. I dislike Routines. You see why I chose this. “smiles”.
  3. Job Security : I have absolutely no fear losing my job because Tech industry is booming and MY chosen career in tech will always be in demand, Ijust need to keep learning new skills. Yes, that’s something to brag about. As Tech industry isn’t going down then my jobs and skills are secured.
  4. Excellent Salary and Benefits : Tech careers provide salaries and benefits. I can earn an annual salary in six-figures even if I do not have a degree in technology but with just your experience and skills. In fact, the top 25% of earners in this field earn an average annual salary of $135,910.
  5. Inclusion : The tech industry is increasing their emphasis on diversity and inclusion. this is key to finding happiness in any career, A working environment where diverse range of people are given a sense of satisfaction to promote creativity and innovation. As a black woman living in Africa, it is really enlightening when I see black woman like me in tech advocating for upcoming black techies like me. It is empowering. With just 3% of black women in tech industry which is underwhelming, I want to represent and lay foundations for black women like me and be successful while at it.
